POI governance structures follow the principles of SFI policies on governance and management for large scale research initiatives.
The Governance Committee (GC) provides oversight and advises on matters relating to programme progress, strategic direction, policy and programme sustainability. The Executive Committee (EC) is responsible for day-to-day management and decision making regarding programme performance, strategic direction and consortium initiatives. The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) provides POI with independent and impartial appraisal of recent research and technology innovations to ensure POI retains its leading edge. The Charity Advisory Board (CAB) advises in relation to charity objectives, outreach initiatives, patient involvement and overall programme strategies. The Industry Advisory Board (IAB) advises in relation to industry partner objectives and trends which may inform POI’s strategic direction.
