Public Engagement

The POI programme is passionate about our research and the potential that it has to positively impact wider society. Public engagement is embedded within the POI programme, with the hope of developing lasting relationships with community groups and working towards the goal of informing and engaging the public, while inspiring the next generation to pursue careers in science and cancer research.

As part of the Systems Biology Ireland team, we hosted an open-day style public event alongside POI charity partners Breakthrough Cancer Research.

Invisible Spectrum 2

Building on the 2020 event of the same name, POI continued its engagements with minority communities of Ireland in cancer research through 'Invisible Spectrum 2.0'.

Choirs for Cancer

Choirs for Cancer brought together 10 choirs and more than 300 singers in a moving community tribute to those whose lives have been touched by cancer.
