Precision Oncology Ireland is a consortium of 5 Irish Universities, 6 Irish Cancer Research Charities, and 7 international companies aiming to develop new diagnostics and therapeutics for personalised cancer treatment. The consortium is part-funded by Taighde Éireann – Research Ireland under their Strategic Partnership Programme and is coordinated by Systems Biology Ireland.
We are excited to announce that the second-stage of the Precision Oncology Ireland programme was officially launched on Wednesday, 8th October.
POI-2 welcomes back established partners while embracing new voices. We're also strengthening our links with clinical partners and bringing in additional expertise in dry and wet-lab research, creating an integrated, collaborative research platform.
With thanks to Research Ireland and all of our funding partners, POI-2 represents a major investment in Irish cancer research. We look forward to many years of building on existing successes and working towards better, safer options for diagnosing and treating people with cancer.
