Our wonderful POI charity partners, Breakthrough Cancer Research, have just launched a public exhibition on the stories of cancer patients and researchers.
As part of the overall exhibition, POI and Systems Biology Ireland (SBI) worked together to curate a dispaly on the transformative power of combining biological lab research with computational analysis. Several POI researchers had their work featured, including Prof. Walter Kolch, Prof. Mark Tangney, Dr Eva Szegezdi, Dr. Luis Iglesias Martinez, Dr. Soraya Epp and Dr Ciaran Devoy.
We were delighted to attend the launch event recently and get a first look before this incredible display opens to the public
After opening speeches from Breakthrough CEO Orla Dolan, Dublin Lord Mayor Ray McAdam and TCD Professor of Biochemistry, Prof. Luke O'Neill, as well as an official ribbon cutting, we were invited to finally enter and begin to explore.

It was amazing to see the huge depth and variety of interactive exhibits on display. From the stories of cancer patients and their lives, to the researchers and clinicians working to improve cancer care, this is an exceptionally ambitious and thorough display of how cancer affects us all.
Of course, we were most excited to see the POI & SBI display, and it did not dissapoint. Featuring displays of SBI & POI researchers and their work, informative videos on the creation and usage of digital twin technologies and best of all, a life-size Walter display, we were delighted to see how well it turned out. This display gives a fantastic overview of the goals of POI and SBI - using cutting edge analytics to bring personalised treatment and diagnostics to where they're needed the most.
